Oct 26th, 2024 – International Relations of Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University Maesot (KPRUMS) proudly participated in a grand celebration of the festival of lights, Diwali held by Indian Association of Maesot – Tak, Tak Tourism Business Trade Association, and executive officers of Robinson Lifestyle Maesot at Passport Restaurant & French Bakery. This occasion was honored by the presence of Mr. and Mrs. Ramji Ramaswamy, Vice-Consul (Commerce), Consulate of India, Chiang Mai. Additionally, this celebration featured traditional Indian music instruments; Harmonium and the Mridangam (Dholak) by The Thai-Bharat Sangeet Band, a musical troupe from Chiang Mai and authentic vegetarian Indian cuisine and traditional sweets relished during the festive season.
Diwali, the festival of lights, is one of the biggest celebration of Indians. The beauty of lights and colors in this auspicious event represents the victory against evil based on the ancient legend Ramayana and marigold offerings are thought to bring divine blessings, prosperity, and protection. At the same time, it marks the beginning of New Year.
